Clara Mae Kirksey

Clara Mae Overstreet Kirksey was born to Isiah Overstreet and Mary Stella Dyess Overstreet in Enterprise Mississippi. At a young age she worked caring for others. For a better life she moved her family to Mobile, Alabama where she worked as a caretaker. She met her husband and they later married. Clara Mae has been a lifelong member of Yorktown Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the Rev. Christopher Williams. She was an active member of the Senior Usher Board for over forty plus years. She also worked as a caretaker for several years before retiring. Clara Mae passed this life at her home on March 17, 2024 with loving family by her side. She was proceeded in death by her husband W. D Kirksey, parents Isaiah Overstreet and Mary Stella Dyess Overstreet, children Johnnie L. Kirksey and Joseph D Overstreet, siblings Betty Mae Dyess Lonnie (Mary) Overstreet and Johnny Overstreet.

Clara Mae is survived by her devoted and loving children John W Overstreet, Mary L Odom of Milwaukee Wisconsin, Shirley M Ruffin, Linda F Overstreet, Willie J Overstreet, Thelma K Boone, Larry Kirksey and Michelle (David) Moore. Twenty-two young grandchildren, a host of great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. A host of nieces and nephews; neighbors and friends.
